Inclusion within professional sports
For many Australians, attending a footy match is more than just sport. It is a celebration of community, emotion and belonging. Yet for fans with disability, this experience is often shaped by barriers that make participation difficult or even impossible. That is why the Achieve Foundation is proud to be working alongside the Sydney Swans to help make Game Day truly inclusive.
This program is focused on more than just accessibility improvements. Together, we are committed to embedding inclusion into the everyday operations and culture of the club. This means ensuring that fans with disability are not only accommodated but genuinely welcomed. Through a full review of the Game Day experience, meaningful engagement with fans and stakeholders, and the development of practical solutions, we aim to reshape how live sport includes people with disability.
Central to this work is the leadership and insight of people with lived experience of disability. Their voices will guide the design, implementation, review and evaluation of all project activities, ensuring that the solutions we develop are grounded in real-world experience and need.
Get involved
The Achieve Foundation and Sydney Swans are currently seeking a philanthropic partner to help support this transformative initiative. This is about more than physical access. It is about creating a culture where every supporter can feel the excitement of the game and the deep sense of connection that sport can bring.
